Ep.137 Beautiful Stars, Seen From Afar (Syahirah - Stargazing)

(Syahirah - Stargazing)

In this episode, I had the honour to have Syahirah as my guest. She shared with me her interest in stargazing as her hobby.

Stargazing can be done during that day, I can 100% assure you that night time star gazing is much better! When speaking with Syahirah she mentioned that if you want to have the best experience with stargazing, it’s best to do it in an area that doesn’t have a lot of light pollution from towns and cities. With space always expanding, there’s always the possibility to see something new… if you have a really really really really really really really really good telescope. But keep in mind that stargazing is for anyone who wants to look up and watch the universe happen before your eyes (you don’t need an expensive telescope to pick up the hobby).

(Justin - Juggling)

In this episode, I had the honour to have Justin as my guest. He shared with me his interest in Juggling as his hobby.

You know what they say? What goes up, must come down. With that being said, if you see a piano go up, you better make sure you get out of the wait when it comes down. Justin might not be able to juggle pianos yet but he is able to juggle many other things and he always enjoys challenging himself to push his juggling skills to the next level.

Ep.135 I See It, I Make It (Bridget - Costuming)

(Bridget - Costuming)

In this episode, I had the honour to have Bridget as my guest. She shared with me her interest in costuming as her hobby.

Inspiration can come literally anywhere when it comes to costuming, whether it’s from a TV show, a movie, someone you know, or even something you created in a dream! Bridget has been costuming for a while now and when she watches some of her favorite tv shows she recreates identical outfits. However, some shows don’t always show the correct angles to see the whole outfit so Bridget puts on her creative hat improvises some new parts which brings the whole outfit together.

Ep.134 The Joy Of Poi (Sar - Poi)

(Sar - Poi)

In this episode, I had the honour to have Sar as my guest. She shared with me her interest in doing poi as her hobby.

Doing circles isn’t your only limits with poi, once you understand the physics of it you can do a whole bunch of moves to create some awesome patterns and tricks. However, poi is much more than a simple ball on a string, there’s a deep and rich history attached to it. Sar goes into great detail explaining the importance of taking in all the poi has to offer.

Ep.133 Even Keys Need Art (Mayette - Epoxy Resin Keychain Maker)

(Mayette - Epoxy Resin Keychain Maker)

In this episode, I had the honour to have Mayette as my guest. She shared with me her interest in being an epoxy resin key chain maker as her hobby.

Epoxy resin if a fun way to add a little personality to your key chains or pretty much anything else you want to jazz up. Mayette enjoys challenging herself by coming up with a new design. Where does she pull her inspiration from, you may ask? Pretty much anywhere and everywhere, her imagination is her only limit. From what she shared with me, she has a lot of imagination and it doesn’t seem to be running out any time soon.

Ep.132 Send Me Back In Time (Chris - Collecting Stamps /Airmail)

(Chris - Collecting Stamps /Airmail)

In this episode, I had the honour to have Chris as my guest. He shared with me his interest in collecting stamps /airmail as his hobby.

Before looking it up online, did you know the term airmail? It’s as simple as it sounds, mail that is carried by air, so in other words planes. However, many years ago mail was mostly delivered by land or sea, it’s only once the world started using planes more and more that people have decided to try a new method of delivery of mail. Technically speaking all physical mail delivered these days are delivered by planes.

For Chris, collecting stamps and airmail allows him to learn more about our history as humans and learn how people back in the days said to each other and shared. To make this interesting, for this episode Chris shared what people shared in the past with their airmail and stamps.

Ep.131 Waiting For The Right Carrier (Jason - Surfing)

(Jason - Surfing)

In this episode, I had the honour to have Jason as my guest. He shared with me his interest in surfing as his hobby.

Mother nature can be your friend and also not your friend all at the same time. The important thing to remember is that you must always be aware of what nature can do. This is especially true when it comes to people who choose to surf. Jason fully understands that he must follow the flow of the wave and not try to fight it.

According to Jason, one of the key things that make surfing fun is not sharing your surfing location with everyone since it might make it overcrowded. Having company is always good but you don’t need the whole city’s population to be there.

Ep.129 They’re Moving On Up! (Megan - Dice Stacking)

(Megan - Dice Stacking)

In this episode, I had the honour to have Megan as my guest. She shared with me her interest in dice stacking as her hobby.

Dice aren’t only used for board games or gambling, there’s a relatively new way to use dice, and that’s stacking them. It’s more challenging than it looks. Before the interview, I gave it a try and couldn’t even get one die in the cup. Megan continuously challenges her self by trying new tricks to stack these dice. At this point, she can even stack dice with both hands at the same time and even blindfolded. The cool thing about dice stacking is that you can challenge yourself and stack it on almost anything. As Megan and I discussed, it might not be a good idea to stack the dice on the family dog.

Ep.128 Keeping My Lane Clear (Deshawn - Bowling)

(Deshawn - Bowling)

In this episode, I had the honour to have Deshawn as my guest. He shared with me his interest in bowling as his hobby.

Physics is your friend, your body is the only challenger to make the laws of physics work out for you. In this case, I’m talking about how the laws of physics apply to bowl. If done right, you can strikes a perfect game if everything was done to perfection. My guest Deshawn, almost achieve this by getting all strikes except for the first one. I have no doubt that he will soon get a perfect game, maybe even a few! Interestingly enough the bowling gen runs in Deshawn’s family. According to Deshawn, it’s only a few years after he picked up the hobby that he learned that his father also enjoys the activity. Now his new challenge is to beat his father in a bowling game.

Ep.127 Dancing Within The Circle (Slavicka - Hula Hoop Dancing)

(Slavicka - Hula Hoop Dancing)

In this episode, I had the honour to have Slavicka as my guest. She shared with me her interest in hula hoop dancing as her hobby.

Hula hoops may seem like a simple circle at first but it has the capability to get your body moving. For Slaicka, she enjoys combining hula hooping with dancing because it allows her to get a full-body workout and also groove to some awesome tunes. One of Slvicka’s biggest challenges with hula hooping was to work on her patience and trying to master a move right away. However like everything in life, the more you do it, the better you will become and you might even end up creating something completely different and make it your own.

Ep.126 Mistake, No. Happy Accidents, Yes! (Curt - Painter)

(Curt - Painter)

In this episode, I had the honour to have Curt as my guest. He shared with me his interest in painting as his hobby.

Deep down inside there’s a Bob Ross in all of us, you just need a little spark of inspiration and maybe a happy tree. Curt pulls a lot of inspiration from Bob Ross’s work but likes to add his personal touch to it to make it more of his own taste and that pretty much the whole concept of being a passionate artist. If you want to get started with painting but don’t know where to start, you can do what Curt did and buy a Bob Ross kit on Amazon, because the first step is always giving it a try.

Ep.125 The Rotating Accuracy (Justin - Disc Golf)

(Justin - Disc Golf)

In this episode, I had the honour to have Justin as my guest. He shared with me his interest in disc golf as his hobby.

Why limit yourself to traditional golf when you can try new ways to get a hole in one? With that being said Justin enjoys to play golf with a disc, hence the name of disc golf. The cool part about this sport/ hobby is that you can pretty much play it anywhere outside, heck you can even play it indoors if you want to break a few things. Unlike traditional golf, the wind plays a more significant role on the movement of the disc so it's important to find the right time to throw or else you might lose your disc and find someone else while you’re searching for your own disc.

In this episode, I had the honour to have Dustin as my guest. He shared with me his interest in video game sprite and pixel art as his hobby.

Dustin enjoys improving the look of pixel art to give it a new or enhanced look and energy. Now this isn't just restricted to simply characters, it also includes world maps. (Dustin - Archery)

In this episode, I had the honour to have Dustin as my guest. He shared with me his interest in archery as his hobby.

Archery has allowed Dustin to connect to his routes and learn more about his ancestor. He mentions that in combat bow arrows can do something that guns can’t do. Do you know what that is? Arrows can curve  and hit targets behind other objects, unless you’re from the movie Wanted, I’m pretty sure guns can’t do that . We can’t all be Robin Hood, Katniss Everdeen, Hawkeye, Legolas or Cupid. But if you keep practicing, you can get pretty close.
